Eric was born and raised in Whiting, Indiana.
He received his formal art training at the American Academy of Art in Chicago, Illinois. His instructors included Rich Kryczka, Bill Parks and Ted Smuskiewicz. With a focus on Illustration and Fine Arts he developed a passion for oil painting.
After graduating from the Academy in 1990, Eric began a career in advertising. Over the past 17 years he has worked as a Graphic Designer, Art Director and Production Director. While maintaining his day job, Eric paints every chance he gets and continues to study the works of many of his favorite artists through books and magazines.
Eric currently resides in Huntley, Illinois with his wife Debbie and their two daughters. He can be found often painting landscapes en plein air, attending life drawing and painting workshops or burning the midnight oil in his home studio.
